Debt collection in Germany is easy and – stereotypically – effective. We recommend that you send a letter to your debtor asking for payment. Please, make sure that you demand payment on or before a spefific date. That date must be reasonable as to giving your debtor grace time enabling your debtor to react. If you have trouble determining a reasonable grace time, we will be happy to assist.
If the debtor’s gracetime has expired and they have failed to pay, we recommend that you file your claim using specific summary procedings that were designed for the collection of debt. Such proceedings provide a chance to obtain an enforcement order without any hearing. Thus, you may save the time-consuming trial.
